Hair, Skin, and Makeup Empties

Hi y’all! I’m super stoked to share my trash, aka beloved products that I’ve used up. I asked you guys if you wanted to see an empties video on my insta stories last week, and y’all wanted to hear about it. If you don’t follow me on Instagram, I link it for you here! So, I figured I’d recap some of the hair, skin, and makeup products I’ve finished so you can hear all about my thoughts and if I’d repurchase!

Let’s start out with hair since I only have two empties. I’ve been loyally using the Amika Curl Defining Cream ever since I was introduced to the brand. This curl cream is so lovely because not only does it help boost my curl pattern, it also gives the perfect amount of hydration for my dry curls. I use this after I towel dry my hair, before I comb through my hair. It almost acts as a detangler while I style my curls. This little gem is def going to be repurchased!

One of my girl friends had given me the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Hold & Shine Moisture Mist and I was pleasantly surprised. I normally wouldn’t reach for a mist for my hair, just because I have super dry hair and I like something heavier and substantial. However, this is so great for second, third, let’s be honest 4th day hair because it refreshes my hair and gives it a bit of shine—which I’m always in desperate need of! I think I will try out the mist specifically for curls next!

On to skincare! I’ve finished yet another Simple Micellar Cleansing Water which I already have another one on deck that I am currently using. I don’t have much to say about this other than it is super gentile on the skin, removes stubborn makeup like a dream, and never leaves my skin super red–which I always appreciate! I usually skip washing my face in the morning, so I dampen a cotton round and gently cleanse my skin with this in the morning. I’d definitely recommend if you haven’t tried one already!

I’ve finished the Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen Serum over the last several months and I have to say this was super lovely and smells amazing. However, it is super expensive and I’m not a fan of the packaging. I couldn’t even get the final drops because the dropper is a bit stubborn. However, I was a fan of the innovative formula. This had little gold collagen beads that help to deeply hydrate the skin. I also liked the fact that you could use this during the day and at night, as it wasn’t too heavy or greasy. If you don’t mind splurging on a serum, I’d say give it a go!

I also finished the Sublime Defense Ultra Lightweight UV Defense Fluid SPF 50 which I thoroughly enjoyed! I love that this has such a high SPF, especially for those of us who are pale af. This fluid was so light weight that you could wear over a moisturizer or alone in the summer months if you have oily skin. It didn’t break me out, which sometimes I have an issue with sunscreens. The only thing I don’t love about the product is that it doesn’t have an expiration date. This makes me a bit nervous, because I don’t want to mess with the harsh sun rays. I’d definitely repurchase this sunscreen!

I’ve finished the Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Face Butter. This little gem is one of the best facial moisturizers. It is so versatile and not greasy, which I love! I love this for when I’m in a rush in the morning, I mix a bit of foundation with this moisturizer and I get a full coverage tinted moisturizer with out the greasy oil slicks that tinted moisturizers usually leave me. I also love that this is a naturally based product and can be used with so many other skincare items. I’d def recommend this to anyone-including those with oily skin!

Last but not least, makeup! I’ve got two mascaras that I’ve finished up over the last few months. One is the YSL Mascara Volume Effect Faux CILS in Black 1 which I received in a gift set over the holidays. This mascara was nice, but I’m not sure if it is worth the $32 price tag. It was a bit too “wet” of a formula for me, but layered with a drier, more voluminous mascara it did the job. I’d say if you find a good gift set deal, give this one a shot. I’ve also finished my second tube of the Loreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise in Blackest Black. Y’all already know that I love this little gem and I highly recommend it to all my friends!

Last but not least, a lipstick! It’s not often I finish an entire lipstick in a short amount of time, but I have to say the Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Let’s Dance was one of my beloved go to bold plumy-pinky lippies! This formula is so AMAZING! It never dries out my lips while being insanely pigmented and long wearing. I was so sad when this was all used up, so you know I will be repurchasing, and most likely grabbing some more shades!!

What products have y’all being using up and repurchasing??
