It seems that February came so quickly and left even faster! I’ve been testing out a lot of products for y’all, but wanted to include only my tried and true favorites. Over the last month I’ve been really into simplistic makeup and glowing skin. I’ve rounded up my faves that I kept reaching for over the month of February!
I’ve been really enjoying the Redken Frizz Dismiss Shampoo. This is a lovely sulfate-free shampoo that helps to clean my hair without leaving it dry and frizzy. I’ve been using this for about two months now and have really been enjoying it! I love that it still lathers while cleansing without using the harsh sulfate chemicals. I’ve used the All Soft Shampoo from this line and also recommend it! It leaves my hair super soft without weighing down my hair. Insider tip-Ulta is having a sale on the Redken line at the moment, buy two get one free!
After washing my hair, I use a deep conditioner to repair and hydrate my hair. I have super dry damaged hair, mostly from coloring and just having curly hair. I LOVE the Amika Triple RX Mask it has been in my shower for the last six months. This is a true life savor! I leave this in for about 10 minutes then rinse it out with luke warm water. I know I should rinse with cold water (it helps protect the color in color treated hair), but I just can’t get down with cold showers! This leaves my curls bouncy, hydrated, frizz-free, and never greasy!
Now on to the makeup faves! I have been loving the Wet N’ Wild Photofocus Foundation. This is a steal at $5.99 and provides medium to full coverage, no flash back, and wears for a long time! I have been mixing in one pump of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlight in Champagne Pop with my foundation for an all over glow. This provides such a soft, natural, and radiant glow! I do like to set with a translucent powder, so the cream highlight doesn’t move. This is a great tip for the oily or combo skin folk.
I’ve always been the type to layer my mascara! I like to start with a lengthening mascara and finish with a volumizing mascara. I’ve been enjoying the Maybeline Total Temptation Mascara since I discovered it in January. However, this paired with the Loreal Lash Paradise Mascara is a match made in heaven! If I opt in for eye shadow, I have been reaching for the Loreal Infaliable 24 Hour Eye Shadow in Amber Rush not only because this is a gorgeous rose gold shade, but its super easy to use. After priming my eyes, I use my ring finger and gently press on the eye lid. I like to blend this into the crease. It makes for the easiest, effortless eye look. Whenever I wear this shade, I always get asked what is on my eyes!
I’m so glad I picked up the Fenty Bomb Bay Mini Face and Lip Set at Sephora. I was a little over the hype of this line launching, however I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised! The Highlighter in this duo is Hu$tla Baby and is a gorgeous gold with the slightest bit of pink. It is great for lighter skin tones if you love the rose gold look, but can’t pull off the dark rose golds available. I apply this to the high points of my cheekbones as well as the cupids bow. The gloss is a beautiful rosey nude that looks great with minimal makeup as well as full on glam face.
When I simplify my glam routine, I usually go to a bold lippie. I used to wear the NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anna on the regular. I fell back in love with this over the month of Feb. It is the perfect mauve with the slightest hint of pink. I swear it flatters EVERY skin tone. The next one comes as no surprise…the Pat McGrath LuxeTrance in Pink Ultraness it is a gorgeous bold pink fuchsia, which you know is my jam! This lippie wears and wears! I swear I only apply this once and it lasts ALL day even through eating and drinking. I’d highly recommend these lipsticks, totally worth the splurge!
Last but not least, I have been enjoying the Loreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray to set my makeup. This is a fine mist that helps to keep your makeup in place, but also helps to settle powder into the skin. After I spray this on my face, my makeup looks more natural and smooth. I give it two thumbs up!
What have y’all been loving last month?!
