When I received the Pat McGrath Mothership II: Sublime Palette for my birthday this past week, I knew I had to swatch it for y’all! Can we just take a minute to talk about this packaging?! Not only is the look on the model #makeupgoals, but this feels like the most luxurious eye shadow palette I own. While I do think $125 for an eye shadow palette is hard to justify, this little gem is totes worth it!
If you like jewel tones as well as some neutrals, this is a wonderful palette! If you are wanting to try out some glam glitter, but are overwhelmed by loose glitter, this would be a great option. The four shadows on the right are almost like pressed glitters. They are pretty buttery, but have a slight grit to them.
The real standouts of the palettes are the jewel toned green, copper gold pressed glitter, and the champagne pinky glitter.
*Disclaimer: there was no eye shadow primer used while swatching this palette.
Swatches from left to right:
Xtreme Black, Skinshow Glow, Dark, Copper Toned, Rose Dusk, Iconic, Blitz Emerald, Bronze 005, Astral Ghost Orchid, and VR Nectar.
I wasn’t as impressed by the swatch of the Xtreme Black shade (see swatches below), but I need to play with it a bit. The shadows are super soft and glided on the skin smoothly. The mattes are a bit patchy. However, I didn’t notice too much fallout from the glitter shades while swatching-super promising! I’m really into playing with more color on my eyes, so I will be testing this gem out the next few weeks. Perhaps a video to follow shortly!
xx
Thanks for the review! I’m so excited the mini palettes are coming out, I can’t justify the $125 price tag but I’m ok with $55 🤣

So true! The $125 is def a splurge for the large palette. I’m also glad there are more neutral options in the mini palettes! So tempting…
