Glowing Radiant Skin & Natural Smokey Eye

I figured my first post should be one of my favorite looks to create. This look consists of glowing skin and a neutral smokey with a subtle pop of color on the lower lashes! This look is a staple in my book because I’m able to swap out shades on my eye lids or lower lash line for a more dramatic or natural look!

I have been really into mixing foundations recently. With the winter months, I tend to enjoy a more luminous foundation. However, Estee Lauder Double Wear gives me the coverage, longevity that I prefer, and keeps me matte all day long-but can be a bit flat. I recently discovered the Loreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation! This provides a medium coverage with a glowy finish. I have combination skin, so I can’t wear the Loreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation on it’s own because it can leave me a bit oily. However, when I mix these two foundations, it literally gives me life! The coverage is there, the luminosity is balanced out perfectly, and I only have to set my t-zone with powder.

After I apply my foundation with a damp Beauty Blender, I apply three VERY small dots of Tarte Shape Tape concealer in fair neutral under my eyes. With the excess I apply to the center of the chin and forehead for a balanced highlight. I set the under eyes and t-zone with my absolute favorite powder, the Laura Mercier Translucent powder.

I then sweep on a bit of Marc Jacobs blush in Reckless (it’s the perfect mauve pink blush!) to the apples of my cheeks. Next Step, the glow! I have not been able to put down the Smashbox Spotlight Palette in Pearl! I generously apply the shades Crank It Up Pearl and Run It On Pearl to the top of my cheekbones, under the brow bone, cupids bow, and gently on the center of the forehead. The glow up is real!

Now on to those eyes tho. I love the Smashbox Cover Shot: Golden Hour Eye Pallete one because it is so compact and travel friendly, but also has the perfect warm shades to create several looks. I sweep the shade Dope in the crease as a transition shade to help blend future shadows. Next I pack the shade Lights on the inner third of the lid. Next up is the shade Psyched on the outer two thirds of the lid and blend. I usually dip back into Dope to blend this deeper shade out. I line my lower lash line with the Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Liner in the shade Rockstar. It is a gorgeous purple with a brown undertone! I blend this out with the shade RockStars (I see a trend here) in the Cover Shot Pallete with a fluffy blending brush. I’ve been in love with the Loreal Lash Paradise mascara because it makes me look like I have false lashes-no lie!

Last step-brows. I like to do this last because it has such a dramatic effect! I fill my brows in with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Auburn. I use an angled brush to fill in the outer third of the lashes and work my way to the front. This helps to get a natural looking brow.

Not included in this picture is a lippie! When I do a smokey eye, I like to use a nude or pinky nude shade on the lips. Sometimes I opt in for a glossy look or matte look-depending on my mood.
